What is STARS?

STARS, or TRiO SSS, is a federally funded program dedicated to college retention and increasing graduation rates on the Neosho County Community College Chanute campus.

Our mission is to support students through meaningful relationships and connect students with opportunities through academic achievement and personal growth.

Student Support Services

Student Support Services (SSS) is located in the CAVE--the basement of the library (the Chapman Learning Center). 

Some of the services we offer are:

  • One-on-OneTutoring

  • Grant aid

  • Transfer Advising 

  • Career assessment 

  • And so many more opportunities!

Opportunities and Events

STARS offers student employment opportunities, events, and conference attendance at no cost to the students in our program. ​

We hire students to be tutors, help with events, manage social media, and more. STARS also plans cultural events and experiences our students might not typically be able to enjoy. Check out our events page for more info!
